Salt and Soil is a single-player historical roguelite colony sim about guiding one family across the changing American frontier from 1609 to 1900.

It is for players who want emergent family stories in a grounded historical setting, with consequences carried across generations while the world changes around them.

How is generative AI used?

During gameplay it creates some Annual Family Council narrative text and structured choice outcomes from the current campaign state. Content is constrained by the historical setting, family data, localization rules, and gameplay schema, then validated before display.
